About us

A quieter, safer way to stay close.

Payra (from páyra — the dove) was born from a simple observation: the apps we use to talk to the people we love were never built for them. They were built for scale, for engagement, for advertising. We wanted something else.

Our mission

We believe a conversation between a mother and her son, between grandparents and grandchildren, between two lifelong friends, is nobody else's business. Not an advertiser's. Not a data broker's. Not even ours.

That's why every message, call, and file on Payra is end-to-end encrypted, with keys that are created on your device and never leave it. Our servers move sealed envelopes; they cannot open them. And your chat history isn't warehoused in a cloud — it's stored on your own phone, so your data stays with you, always.

Why family-first matters

Most messengers treat every contact the same — a stranger and your child sit in the same list with the same rules. Payra is different by design:

Our values

Privacy is a right

Encryption isn't a premium feature. Every account, every chat, every call — protected by default.

Safety for the young

Children deserve digital spaces designed with their safety in mind — not retrofitted after the harm.

Simple, honest software

Free to use, no ads, no dark patterns. We succeed when your family feels closer, not when you're glued to the screen.

Where we're going

Payra is young and moving fast. Voice and video calls, peer-to-peer file sharing, encrypted key backup and guardian circles are live today on Android — with iOS on the way. If you have ideas, requests, or concerns, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
