Delete your Payra account

You can request deletion of your Payra account and its associated data at any time. This page explains exactly what happens and how to do it.

How to request deletion

Send an email to privacy@payra.app with the subject line "Delete my Payra account", sent from the email address registered to your account. To protect you, we may reply with a one-time verification code to confirm the request really comes from you.

Timeline

We confirm verified requests within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification. Deletion is permanent — your message history and keys cannot be recovered afterwards.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. Email privacy@payra.app from your registered address and tell us what to remove — for example your profile photo, your encrypted key backup, or messages still queued for delivery. We handle these requests on the same 7/30-day timeline. (Delivered message content never sits on our servers to begin with — it's removed on delivery and lives only on your device, where you can delete chats yourself in the app at any time.)

Guardian-managed accounts

If the account belongs to a child in your family circle, the request must come from the guardian who manages that account. Guardians can also contact privacy@payra.app for any child-account data question.
